FR Graphite Firestopping Graphite Mastic
FR Graphite is a water-based graphite mastic with high fire resistance that expands during a fire to seal gaps around cable and large-diameter plastic pipe penetrations.
Protecta® FR Graphite is a water-based firestopping mastic containing a high concentration of heat-expanding graphite material.
This compound is suitable for penetrations requiring greater fire resistance than FR Acrylic; for example, it provides EI 180 fire resistance for cable trays and can also be used with plastic pipes measuring Ø150 mm and above. Protecta® FR Graphite expands when exposed to fire and seals the openings around penetrations when pipes or other materials that melt at low temperatures burn away. It is designed to provide a level of fire resistance in large plastic pipes that conventional fire-resistant mastics cannot achieve.
