FR Foam Firestopping PU Foam
FR Foam is a single-component polyurethane foam with strong adhesion and thermal and acoustic insulation properties, designed to provide fire resistance by filling linear gaps in walls.
Protecta® FR Foam is designed to fill linear gaps in plasterboard, concrete, or masonry walls to maintain the fire resistance of wall assemblies.
Supplied as a single-component polyurethane foam, Protecta® FR Foam cures by moisture absorption. Once cured, it exhibits high durability during service and provides excellent adhesion to most construction materials.
FR Foam also offers superior thermal performance (0.0354 W/mK) and sound insulation properties.

Brick–Reinforced Concrete Walls ≥ 150 mm
| Joint Type / Maximum Width | Minimum Application Depth | Fire Rating |
| Horizontal joints ≤ 20 mm | 150 mm | EI 180 |

Plasterboard–Brick–Reinforced Concrete Walls ≥ 100 mm
| Joint Type / Maximum Width | Minimum Application Depth | Fire Rating |
| Timber door joints ≤ 30 mm | 150 mm² | EI 180 |
¹ Both faces of the FR Foam must be capped with Protecta® FR Acrylic (IPT) sealant at a minimum depth of 5 mm.
² Both faces of the FR Foam must be covered with timber architraves at least 12 mm thick, fixed with pins, nails, or screws.
Sound Insulation:
-
Rw 61 dB – Single-sided application at a depth of ≥ 50 mm.
-
Equivalent or higher sound reduction will be achieved with greater application depth. The acoustic insulation value applies solely to the foam itself and not to other components of the building construction. Test report available upon request.
