FR Damper Firestop Air Transfer Grille / Damper

A firestop damper system used in conjunction with FR Board and Ex Mortar to prevent the passage of heat and smoke through ventilation ducts at fire compartment boundaries and wall penetrations.

Protecta® FR Damper is applied to ventilation ducts in fire compartments and fire wall zones of buildings to prevent the passage of heat and smoke caused by fire.

The product consists of a steel casing containing horizontal steel blades treated with intumescent graphite, which seals the entire damper in the event of a fire. To ensure fire resistance in openings penetrated by ventilation ducts, it must be used in conjunction with Protecta® FR Board and Protecta® Ex Mortar.

CERTIFICATES:

  • Maintenance-free and requires no electrical connection.

  • Dampers can be installed in both walls and floors.

  • Prevents fire and smoke from penetrating the ventilation duct.

  • Cuts off airflow in the fire zone, allowing ventilation to continue in other parts of the system.

  • Protects fans and ventilation units by maintaining the temperature inside the duct network below 120°C.

  • Requires no thermal insulation on ventilation ducts.

  • Provides a service life of over 50 years.

  • Designed to fit standard duct equipment.

  • Enables in-duct connection and saves space.

  • Compatible with cables, pipes, and similar elements running alongside ventilation ducts.

  • Dampers are only 15 cm in length; elbows can be connected directly behind the firestop.

  • The damper can be applied to only one side of the ventilation duct.
