FR Board Firestop, Coated Panel

A rigid stone wool board coated on one or both sides with a firestop coating, used for sealing openings in fire-resistant walls and floors.

Protecta® FR Board is designed to maintain the fire resistance of compartment walls and floors in buildings. It consists of a rigid stone wool material coated on one or both sides with Protecta® FR Coating.

  • Approved for application in all mechanical and electrical shafts, with or without pipe or cable penetrations.
  • Simple and very quick to install.
  • Suitable for additional retrofits after application.
  • Permanently flexible. Accommodates movement during a fire and smaller movements in the structure in which it is installed.
  • Suitable for most substrates including concrete, brick, masonry, steel, timber, plasterboard, glass, plastic, and non-porous surfaces.
  • Can be used in unlimited lengths on walls up to 1,200 mm in height and on floors up to 800 mm in width.
  • Can be installed in plasterboard walls with or without a frame around the opening.
  • Halogen-free with added fungicides.
  • Resistant to UV, moisture, and frost once fully cured.
  • Protecta® FR Board features a smooth surface.
  • Necessary precautions must be taken to prevent standing or stepping on the product after application.

Shelf Life

Can be stored for long periods.


Must be stored at temperatures between 5 °C and 30 °C.
Compatibility Suitable for use with most materials; however, it should not be used in direct contact with bituminous materials.
Limitations If the boards are to be used in permanently damp areas, Protecta® FR Coating must be applied over the sealant.

Protecta® FR Board is designed to restore the fire resistance of flexible and rigid wall and floor structures penetrated by various services, including metallic pipes, composite pipes, and plastic pipes.
