Protecta® FR ASF is designed to prevent the spread of fire, smoke, and gases through openings in fire-rated walls and floors, particularly linear joints and building service penetrations.
It should be applied over suitable backing materials to ensure the correct width-to-depth ratio and to reduce joint shrinkage during curing. The use of Protecta® FR IPT is recommended in areas with high humidity levels or in joints subject to excessive movement.
Formulated with noise-reducing fillers, it is an intumescent material providing up to 2 hours of fire resistance. It cures when exposed to atmospheric conditions and maintains its flexibility for joint movement.
It is fire resistant in both horizontal and vertical joints.
